Heirloom Victorian Christening Gown with Whitework Embroidery
Heirloom Baby Gown: Heirloom Christening Gown
This white cotton Victorian gown was made in England around the turn of the century. It features rows of whitework embroidery and embroidered ruffles on the bodice. The neckline is edged with ruffled cotton lace and the mid-length sleeves have ruffled lace trim. Typical of the period, the gown closes in the back with a tie at the neck. An embroidered tab at the center skirt front has long ties to tie the yoke closed in the back. The long cotton skirt has a simple hem.
A sweet Victorian christening gown, baptism gown, or dedication gown for your baby boy or girl! Less elaborate than many Victorian gowns, it would make a wonderful heirloom family gown as well.
