Heirloom Early 1900s English Daygown with Whitework Embroidery

Heirloom Baby Gowns: Heirloom Baby Daygown
This sweet simple white cotton muslin gown was hand made in England in the 1900s. It features whitework embroidery on the yoke with center gathers on the skirt caught by an embroidered tab. The neckline and the long sleeves are finished with narrow white lace. The gown closes in the back with simple ribbon ties typical for the period and is finished with a small hem. This type of gown would have been a standard day dress for babies of either sex when they were not receiving guests in Downton Abbey days.
Wouldn't it be a darling informal baptism or christening gown for your baby boy or baby girl?
