Heirloom 1930s Embroidered White Lawn Christening Gown
Vintage Baby Clothes: Vintage Baby Dresses
This simply but elegantly embroidered gown was handmade of fine gossamer lawn, likely in the 1930s. It features very tiny pintucking with openwork embroidery between the tucks both front and back and a simple embroidered circular design at the neck. The neckline is finished with openwork embroidery and lace as are the long sleeves. The embroidery pattern is repeated along the entire hem of the gown. The back closes with three tiny buttons and openwork embroidery details the back placket.
This would make a beautiful heirloom christening gown for either a boy or girl or a wonderful dress for a toddler.
